The Extended School Summer Program, approved by the New Jersey State Board of Education, prevents the academic, language and social-emotional regression that normally occur during the summer vacation. The program reinforces the goals in the students' IEPs and promotes further growth and development.
Our Summer Program, based on students' IEPs, promotes academic and social/emotional learning development. The program prevents regression in learning during the summer months. These activities enable children to generalize their learning, providing important outlets that enhance their functioning and integration within their community. The program has included trips to the Paper Mill Playhouse, the Bronx Zoo, Liberty Science Center, the Jersey Shore, swimming pools and local Y's for sports and gymnastics.
