Parent Education/Parent Support
TCI's Clinical Staff sponsors a series called "Family Nights", which are also open to the public. During these programs, childcare and sibling support groups are provided for students' families. Examples of Family Nights topics have included:
- Highlighting Community Resources
- Behavioral Management
- Social Skills and Social Problem Solving
- Medication Interventions
- Coping and Stress Reductions
Family Nights- Dates and Topics 2006-2007 Academic Year
- November 17 - Helping Your Child Develop Social Skills,
presented by TCI staff.
- March 23 - Sexuality Education for Parents of Children
with Special Needs, presenter Pam Barnes, R.N., TCI School Nurse.
- April 20 - Planning for Your Child's Future: Everything
You Always Wanted to Know About DVD and DDD, presented by Jennifer
Gutschmidt, TCI Transition Coordinator/Supervisor Program 3.
- May 18 - SOS Help for Parents: User-Friendly Topics by
TCI staff.
All Family Nights are from 6:45-9:00PM and are open to the
public. To register, kindly 973-509-3050, and push “7” at the prompt.
TCI Parent Support Group Dates:
All Support Groups are scheduled for 6:30-8:30PM. Please note Sibling
Support Groups will be held on the same dates and times as The Parent
Support Groups. Dinner and child care will be provided.
